Seeking to survive, Hackett tries to make it back to his own countrymen, only to find there is relatively little safety for him anywhere in the northern regions.

Blooded Snow is a good start to a 5 book series titled Mage Hunter. I read Blooded Snow in just over 2 hours time and found it to be well written. The main character Guthrie seems a capable soldier in the military and allows the reader to follow his path easily as the novella progresses.A wyrd woman and a witch both have appearances in the book and both seem to play key roles in the war between the Dartague Barbarians and the more civilized Ursian people.
The Ursian people do not believe in magic and kill those accused of practicing magic, whereas the Dartague people rely heavily on magic and their Priestesses hold much power over their people.
I picked up the Mage Hunter Omnibus with all 5 novellas in it to see where the book will take me.
Overall enjoyment and readability gets 4 stars, the only real disappointment being that the book was so short..
The technical aspects of the book are fairly clean and error free. The occasional typo or bad edit does not distract from the story or flow of the plot.
Considering Blooded Snow is free on Amazon, it is definitely worth getting a copy on Kindle to see if this is your kind of story.

when is number 2?
Really great short story part 1. Author made you feel like you
Were right there, will be reading the other parts.
The main character goes through some quick growing pains and you're not sure of the direction of the book. The author is good at twisting the story and leaves even the most powerful character vulnerable in some way.
Beware this is but a couple chapters. Here on it comes n 60 page bits for a buck each. Worthless to small to even hope to review.
I like Ty Johnston's style of writing. It is informative without being a huge presentation of the systems and philosophies of the places his characters reside in.
Not a bad start to this series. A lone survivor from an ambush is kept alive to deliver a get out of our land or else message. But, someone else has something different in mind for him. In a land where magic is feared and forbidden, a Sgt is cursed with magical sight, which allows him to see magical residue, and allows him t o track magic users. Hence, the title of series.
Quick story, starts off fast, and keeps rolling along. Off to get rest of series
A sergeant caught between two witches, the story begins with a magicians Ambush. The hero is close to finishing his hitch . He was serving in the army of self appointed God's chosen, all magic is evil.
